Golf Mill Shopping Center Partners with the Niles Public Library for “Reading Is So Delicious” Summer Reading Program
The Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Festival invites teens and families to the Niles Teen Center on Friday, June 8, 5-7pm. The Teen Center, located inside of Golf Mill Shopping Center at Entrance #6, will host a Kick-off Festival where the first 50 kids and teens who sign up for the Niles Public Library’s Summer Reading Club will receive free admission passes to Brookfield Zoo and to their new summer long temporary exhibit “Xtreme BUGS” opening on May 19. The Xtreme BUGS exhibit features giant animatronic bugs, live creepy-crawlies, and fun hands-on activities for everyone.
The Summer Reading Club Kick-off Festival is a free and family friendly event. Learn about the Niles Public Library’s Summer Reading program and tour the award winning Niles Teen Center. Gourmet cookies and refreshing beverages will be served, compliments of GFS Marketplace.
This is the second year of partnership with the Niles Public Library promoting continued reading throughout summer months. The “Reading Is So Delicious” program is open to ages 0-18, and offers free gifts for completed reading achievements.
The program boasts a popular Teen attraction for ages 12-18. For every reading log Teens complete they will receive a to-go cold cup with a built-in straw; perfect for sipping a cool drink on a hot day. The cup will contain a voucher redeemable at the mall for a free admission and Xtreme Bugs exhibit pass. Teens will be eligible for the weekly restaurant giveaways and a drawing at the end of the summer for a grand prize, an Apple iPod touch!
