Maine East High School cheerleaders will be part of the festivities on December 1 when the Westfield Old Orchard Mall in Skokie  stages a parade that welcomes Santa to town and ends with the mall’s annual tree-lighting ceremony.

East cheerleaders were invited by Old Orchard, and this marks the cheer squad’s first year of participation in this festive tradition.  All levels of cheerleading will be participating in the event, leading cheers, chants, and inviting patrons to join in the parade. Faculty sponsor Christina Steiner said that the cheerleaders feel honored to be asked to participate in what is going to be a fun kickoff to the holidays.  The event takes place on Saturday, December 1, from 5:30 to 6:30p.m. 

Westfield Old Orchard Mall is located north of Golf Road and south of Old Orchard Road just east of the Edens Expressway.
