Maine Township’s entry into the Township Officials of Illinois (TOI) Mighty Message contest was judged to be the best in Illinois.

The photo was of the honorary street sign unveiling at Dee Park during National Night Out in August. The ceremony honored a fallen U.S. Astronaut who was the first Indian woman in space.

Highway Commissioner Robert Provenzano, Supervisor Carol Teschky and Dick Barton, the photographer, accepted the award on Nov. 13 at the TOI Annual Conference in Springfield, IL.
