$1,600 Of Tools Taken From Truck At Mall

The vehicle was parked in a shopping center parking lot. An arrest is merely an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

A 51-year-old Chicago man reported Dec. 6 that someone had forcibly entered his 2007 Ford pickup, which was parked in the Golf Mill Shopping Center parking lot, and removed $1,600 worth of tools. It happened between 7 and 11 a.m.

Traffic light pole found toppled over

In a criminal damage to property incident, a traffic light pole was found lying on the ground on Dec. 7 at the northwest corner of Milwaukee Avenue and Maryland Avenue. Police determined the pole had been purposely detached from its base, and noted a two-inch pry mark on the base. They said it appeared someone pried the pole to make it easier to push over; they did not detect any evidence that would lead them to believe a vehicle had crashed into it.
