Armed Robber Displayed Handgun, Police Say

He made off with an undisclosed amount of money from a business. An arrest is merely an accusation and not evidence of a conviction.

A man in his 40s displayed a handgun during an armed robbery of a hair salon in the 5600 block of Touhy at about 8:40 p.m. Dec. 28, according to police reports. The robber took an unknown amount of money and fled on foot, police said; they are investigating.

Domestic dispute complicated by drug use

Police responded to a domestic dispute Dec. 28 at about 6:45 p.m. at a residence in the 8400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. A 24-year-old man told them his 22-year-old girlfriend, whom he identified as a heroin addict, had been involved in an argument over personal issues, according to the report. The woman removed her pants and tried to urinate in the kitchen, according to police, then put her pants back on, pushed the boyfriend in the chest and left the apartment. Police issued a domestic violence form and filed a report; the man did not want to sign complaints.
