DiMaria Kicks Off Campaign At Party

Dozens flocked to a pizza party to wish Dan DiMaria well in his bid for Morton Grove mayor.

Morton Grove Trustee Dan DiMaria shook a lot of hands and greeted dozens of people Tuesday evening at a kickoff party for his campaign at Giordano's Pizzeria.

The candidate said he was pleased that a variety of people attended the event.

"There are independents here, school people here, Action Party and Caucus Party people," he said.

"I think we are going to succeed because we are getting people together for a common cause that we all want. The theme of the night is unity and we're all coming together."

See the photos to get a flavor of the event.

I don't see any differences between DiMaria and Staackman.

The difference is easy to see as Staackmann is the tall one and Dimaria is the short one. I vote for the tall one.

After looking at the last three years of budgets on the MG website I vote for DiMaria. What a bunch of granstanding at the last board meeting by Staakmann. MG is carrying more debt than Niles and Skokie with far less revenue and Staakamann thinks this is great because its lower than some other suburbs down south. The pseudo blanced budget for 2013 relies heavily on increased fine money and permit fees. Hey, why wasn't Staackmann present to vote a couple of years ago for the tax increase that allowed this budget to squeak by? Busy that night Dan? When it comes to the nuts and bolts of doing what's right he is a no show. Dimaria is far more business friendly and is running to bring this village into the future. As far as the list of accomplishments at the last board meeting what's with mentioning the 4 minute fire/ambulance response time? Our fine fire department has been doing this for the past ten years but in an election year it becomes news? If you really care about the fire department how about updating that outhouse, I mean fire house, at Harlem and Shermer.

Calm down Brad, you're going to stroke out and need that 4 minute visit from the MGFD ambulance! Thanks for the Dimaria negative campaign commercial though, maybe next time you'll be good enough to share what your boy is for and some specifics about all the wonderful things he's done or plans to do for us?

Old Time Grover you shouldn't pick on verticlly challenged people, after all it's that time of year when a short elf visits all our homes and gives us stuff. I wonder what's in Santa Danny D's goodie bag for us?

Negative campaign? I think you mean factual Grover. I deal in facts and not candidates physical appearance. It did make me chuckle though......

Glad to give you a chuckle Brad, always good to have a sense of humor. But if your campaign is as factual as you wrote, I would like some substantive answers to my question about what your boy will do differently than the current Mayor about being more friendly to and attracting business from new sources? I wasn't at the last meeting you referenced about grandstanding so is that what you mean by reporting on what happened last year in the village?
