Are you looking for a place to recycle old electronics?
The Electronics Products Recycling and Reuse Act does not allow people to throw away TVs, computer monitors and other types of electronics.
However, the nonprofit Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County has two permanent locations for electronics recycling:
The drop-off sites are closed during holidays and available only to SWANCC's member communities which include Arlington Heights, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Niles, Morton Grove, Park Ridge, Palatine, Skokie, Winnetka and Wilmette.
Aside from the permanent locations, SWANCC will sometimes have electronics recycling events in communities.
Electronics recycling does not include household hazadous materials. It also does not include items such as microwaves, home appliances, dehumidifers and air conditioners. For more information visit SWANCC.

There used to be a drop-off nearby in Morton Grove. I'm not going to drive to Glenview or Winnetka to recycle. Put it in the back of your house and a scavenger will pick it up within an hour.
