Cook County circuit court judge Rita Novak scheduled a court date for Tuesday, March 12 at 11:15 a.m. to announce her ruling in the multi-million dollar lawsuit between the villages of Glenview and Niles over water bills, the Journal & Topics reports.

However, Glenview's attorney Eric Patt told the Journal & Topics the case might continue past the March 12 if the judge decides facts presented by the two villages are in dispute. 

Patch previously reported that Niles issued a statement saying the Village of Glenview owes Niles more than $4 million in unpaid water bills and interest. It's also asking for $1.84 million in punitive damages from Glenview for what is termed as "fraudulently misrepresenting the reasons it refuses to pay the bills."

Glenview maintained that Niles violated the villages' water agreement by providing Niles residents with water for less than what they were charging Glenview — the intial water suppy agreement was to provide Glenview with the lowest rate of any Niles water customer.
