Hello, World, From Niles-Morton Grove Patch
It's official--the Morton Grove and Niles Patch sites have merged to make a better, stronger site and bring you news, information and community.
I love you, Niles! And I love you too, Morton Grove! It's kind of like when you have two children--you love them both equally.
The new, merged Niles-Morton Grove Patch site went live at 11 p.m. Tuesday night, and that's great news for both communities.
As someone who has lived in both towns, I know we'll have a wealth of great stories to tell and news to cover.
But the best part? The people! There are so many wonderful people in both communities, and it's great to know them. I hope you'll make Niles-Morton Grove Patch your home on the Web, posting Upcoming Events and Announcements and commenting on articles to get a good community conversation going.
So why the merger? You’ve been telling us you’d like more coverage of Morton Grove and Niles – and we’ve heard you. With the newly-merged site, Patch has harnessed its resources to more effectively cover both communities.
It makes more sense to our readers and our local small business owners to offer coverage that extends into both towns, doesn't it? So much of the information we were offering was of interest to residents of both communities; having it all in one place will make it easier for you to keep up with all the goings-on,without flipping back and forth between sites!
Here are some of the exciting benefits this will bring to Morton Grove and Niles:
- All of the businesses will be part of our extensive community directory, called Patch Places. Business owners will continue to be invited to claim their listings- and readers will have a comprehensive resource for finding every business in Morton Grove and Niles.
- We already are covering Morton Grove and Niles breaking news, schools and sports. This will allow us to expand that coverage and invite residents to add their own voices to the discussion through Letters to the Editor, Announcements, Events and photos in our Neighborhood Gallery.
- We’ll bring you regular coverage of the issues and events close to home. We’ve already started doing that.
We're excited about being able to provide better coverage of the things that matter to residents of both communities. But as always, if you think we're missing anything, let me know:
