Identity Theft Of $4,900 On Man's Credit Card

He received a letter in the mail congratulating him on opening a new account. An arrest is merely an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

 

 

A 49-year-old Niles man who lives in the 9200 block of Callero reported on Sept. 25 he received a letter from HSBC Credit Corporation congratulating him for opening a new credit card with a big box retail electronics store, and that he was being notified to expect his new credit card in the mail. After he called the ompany, he learned that a new credit account had been open in Merrillville, Ind. and purchases in the amount of $4,900 USC had been made. The victim will contact the three major credit reporting agencies. Report only at this time.
