Man Breaks Into Building, Punches Two Women
Police said he punched his girlfriend, and when her sister tried to defend her, he punched her too. Arrest information is supplied by the Niles Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Ivan Crespo, 26, of Chicago, was charged with domestic battery, battery and knowingly damaging property Jan. 25 just after 2:15 a.m. in an apartment on Crain Street in Niles.
Crespo had broken a window in the front door of an apartment building, police said, and reached through the broken glass to let himself into the hallway. He went to the apartment of his 26-year-old girlfriend, her 20-year-old sister and their mother, and banged on the door until his girlfriend answered and observed he appeared intoxicated, according to the report. He complained she was spending too much time with her mother, police said, and she repeatedly told him to leave, so he headed out to the yard but continued yelling. At one point she tried to close the door with the broken window to shut him out, but he pushed and she cut her wrist, police said. He then punched her in the face, and when her younger sister attempted to intervene, he punched her too, police said. Police observed injuries on both women, according to the report.
Crespo's court date is March 6 in the Skokie branch of the Cook County courts.
