Man Found Dead in Park In Skokie

A 53-year-old Rogers Park man was found dead near the Skokie Sports Park on Saturday afternoon. Authorities said cold weather led to his death.

 

 

Cold weather led to the death of a Rogers Park man in Skokie on Saturday.  Luis M. Escalante was pronounced dead around 4 p.m. that day, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office said today.

The 53-year-old was found in a park in the 3200 block of Oakton Street, or near the Skokie Sports Park at McCormick Boulevard and Oakton Street.

Last year, there were eight cold related fatalities in Illinois, according to the National Weather Service website.
