New Morton Grove Firefighter Sworn In

Brandon Patchett joins the ranks as a firefighter-paramedic.

Michael Simkins, chairman of Morton Grove's Police and Fire Commission, introduced new hire Brandon L. Patchett at a village board meeting recently. Patchett will serve as a firefighter-paramedic with the Morton Grove Fire Department.

Here is what Simkins read at the meeting:

Brandon Patchett began his employment with the village as a firefighter on January 7th, and began attendance at the NIPSTA Fire Academy (the same day). He will graduate in mid-March and will be assigned to shift duty shortly thereafter.

Brandon was born and raised in the Bourbonnais, Illinois area, where his father was a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years.  He graduated from Hersher High School and attended the University of Illinois – Champaign, receiving his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Brandon has been enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard since 2000, and served over seven years on Active Duty, including a tour in Afghanistan.

Brandon and his wife, Kim, who was a Niles West graduate, hope to soon relocate to the area. When Brandon is not working he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family and friends.
