Niles Hires Two Police Officers

They'll succeed two who retired in 2012.

The Niles Police Department has hired two new police officers, after losing two to retirement last year.

Officers Kelley Dolan and Christopher Koch were sworn in Jan. 3.

The two new officers will attend a 12-week academy training at the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of Dupage in Wheaton, Illinois. They will then be certified as police officers in Illinois.

After that, they will return to the Niles Police Department for a 14-week field training program. If they complete it successfully, they will be released into full service as police officers.
