Niles Police Blotter: Christmas Day Domestic Battery

The following information was provided by the Niles Police Department. An arrest is merely an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Battery

Arturo Salazar-Guerrero, 22, of Niles, was charged with domestic battery after an incident in the 8200 block of Elizabeth.

Police responded to the residence after a 911 call at 1:39 p.m. on Dec. 25. When officers arrived Guerrero and the 34-year-old female victim were behind a locked door. After requesting the door be open, officers forced their way into the room.

The victim had signs of being struck on her body, including her forehead, chest neck, left arm and back. Salazar-Guerrero was bleeding from his mouth and had several scratches on his face. Both individuals declined medical attention.

Domestic Dispute

On Dec. 24 at 7:45 a.m. a 24-year-old male was involved in a verbal dispute with his 19-year-old brother over the brother not paying his share of the rent. The incident happened in the 9000 block of Cumberland Avenue. No charges were filed.
