Niles VFW Post Celebrates 65th Anniversary

Congresswoman, Mayor join the festivities.

An Andrews Sisters tribute band provided glamor and music, and a Congresswoman and mayor provided celebrity quotient as celebrated its 65th anniversary Friday, according to Chris Hanusiak, a Niles trustee, veteran and Officer of the Day for the post.

The Legacy Girls danced and sang to the Andrews Sisters' hits from the World War II era.

U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky and Niles Mayor Robert Callero, as well as many family members and friends of post members, visited to congratulate the VFW post members on their achievement.
