Nominations Open Monday for ‘Seven Wonders of Morton Grove’
The Community Relations Commission project aims to spark local pride
Nomination forms will be available at Village Hall Monday for the Community Relations Commission’s Seven Wonders of Morton Grove contest. The form is also expected to be available to download Monday from the Village of Morton Grove Web site.
Residents and people who work in or visit Morton Grove can nominate public areas including buildings, parks or business. The entries with the most nominations will be placed on a final ballot that will be voted on at Village Hall and the Morton Grove Farmers Market.
“The purpose of the program is to encourage a sense of community and have Morton Grove residents take some pride in areas of their town that they might not be aware of or that they are aware of or want other people to be aware of,” said commissioner Janice Cha.
After holding an informal strategy session the group launched a Facebook page Wednesday to help spread the word about the contest. The Community Relations Commission will also be offering nomination forms at the Aug. 27 farmers market.
