SCHULTE, LAWRENCE H. Lawrence "Larry" H. Schulte, 87, of Morton Grove, beloved husband of Marian for 58 years; loving father of Dr. Eric, Kurt (Carol), Karen (John) Hogan and Dr. Brett (Kelli); cherished grandfather of Sara, Amanda, Daniel, Michael, Caleb, Nicole and Joseph; fond brother of the late Mary Lou Texidor; dear uncle of Maria, Patricia, Linda, Ted and John. Larry served as a combat infantryman in the Blackhawk 86th Division in the European and Philippine theaters. He then graduated from Northwestern Univ. in 1950. He spent many years working for Cook Electric and Northern Telecom in many different capacities He served on the Morton Grove Village Board as trustee and was their representative to S.W.A.N.C.C. He served several times as an Elder for the M.G. Community Church and was active on many committees for 52 years. Past Pres. of M.G. Chamber of Commerce, Niles-Morton Grove Rotary Club and District 70 School Board. He was a member of M.G. American Legion Post #134. His greatest love was working with the youth of the community coaching Little League and Soccer. He was very active in scouting serving as Cub Scout, Webelo and Scout Troop Leader and was the Explorer Post Leader of the first co-ed post in our area. He was also Camping Father for the Girl Scouts. He loved Morton Grove and left a beautiful legacy for our young people. Visitation Sunday 2 to 7 p.m. at Simkins Funeral Home 6251 Dempster St. Morton Grove, IL. Lying in state at Morton Grove Community Church 8944 Austin Ave. Morton Grove, IL Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.
