The store will have "Hugo" beginning on Tuesday.

Local movie theaters also offer several opportunities to check out this year’s nominees.

“The Artist” is showing at Muvico Rosemont 18, 9701 Bryn Mawr Ave., the Catlow, 116 W. Main St. in Barrington and AMC Showplace Niles 12, 301 Golf Mill Center.

AMC Loews Streets of Woodfield 20, 601 N. Martingale Road in Schaumburg, is showing “The Artist,” “The Descendants” and “Hugo.”

AMC is also offering packages to see five of the films on Saturday: “The Artist,” “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,” “The Help,” “Hugo” and “Midnight in Paris.”

Mitch Sweeney, store manager at Family Video in Wheeling, said he has not seen all of the films nominated for Best Picture yet, but, out of the ones he has seen, he thought “The Tree of Life” was the best.
