The biggest winner at Sunday's Oscars telecast may be history. Six of the the nine films nominated for Best Picture are set in the distant past--from 1700s France in "Les Miserables" to 1858 for "Django Unchained," the 1860s in "Lincoln," the 1970s for "Argo" to just two years ago for "Zero Dark Thirty."
If you'd like to make your picks of the winners, you can enter to win the Niles Library's contest by asking for an entry at the first-floor Audio-Visual department. The library is giving away a gift card to Portillo's and the AMC Movie Theater at Golf Mill Shopping Center.
To get you thinking, here are the picks made by Cecilia Cygnar of the Niles Library, who writes film reviews for Patch.com. The library is not doing its usual Oscars gala evening this year because of construction, but officials assure us it will return.
