Reader Response: "Best" of Morton Grove

Here's what you had to say about your top local burger joints, ethnic food and more.

Recently, we asked readers who they thought had the best burger, hairdresser, business website, ethnic food and cutest pet in Morton Grove. The responses have been tallied, polls have closed and results are in. Thanks to everyone for all of the great feedback! Here's what you had to say:

Best Burger -

We received some great (and passionate) responses on who you thought served up the best cheeseburger in town, including Kappy's and The Grill. But when the dust settled it looks like Bringer Inn took home the crown.

Jacky Liston - Bringer Inn! And their Monday-Friday Lunch special is a hamburger for just $3 and a cheeseburger for just $4 between 11am and 2pm!

Karen Bochek Gates - Bringer Inn on Lincoln Ave..has the best burgers!!!

Bringer Inn

Most Talented Hairdresser -

Patty Wallenberg: I nominate Cathy Pauley of Faust of Italy!!

Faust of Italy

Most Unique Business Website -

Genevie Ballas: Best business website in Morton Grove? Check out DanceFlix.. they offer thousands of instructional dance titles in Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Swing, Hustle, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Country and more. DVD videos are available for online rental in monthly subscription plans and available to anywhere in the US.

Best Ethnic Food -

Tony Kovacs: Not too many choices unfortunately compared to Skokie and Evanston and of course Chicago but China Chef is my vote!

China Chef

Cutest Pet -

Thank you to Debi Scholtes and her adorable dog, Truman!

With such a wonderfully diverse community as Morton Grove’s, it’s great to have so many food options. We all have our favorite breakfast, lunch and dinner spots; each offering an unbelievably great variety of goodies brought to our tables by favorite waiters and waitresses. Just want a pizza? There’s at least a half-dozen places in town (some featured on local and national TV) that offer thick or thin, stuffed and deep dish. We also have Chinese, Vegetarian, Cajun, Filipino, Mexican, Japanese, Mediterranean, Sushi, Italian, Asian Dumplings, Middle-Eastern, Thai, Sea Food and Korean dine-in restaurants. Need fast food? Burgers, chicken, sandwiches, and salads are very easy to find. Looking to have a beer with a burger, messy hot wings, nachos, chips and salsa or onion rings? Morton Grove has that too! And don’t forget all those local places offering us coffee, tea, bagels, doughnuts, and sweet rolls in the mornings or eggs, pancakes and waffles for a more hearty breakfast. Perhaps what's truly "best" is that Morton Grove has such a variety of food choices available in our community. I hope everybody has fun while exploring our village to find them as fall approaches and our appetites gear up for the cooler weather.

Thanks Tony! Enough people are always writing from the negative/glass half empty perspective - so we need more positive postings and stories (like your excellent efforts with the "Seven Wonders of Morton Grove" contest). I hope more people are contributing their ideas to you and the committee for this on the project's Facebook Page - http://www.facebook.com/#!/7WondersOfMortonGrove
