This is the fifth year that Sgt. Huinker and Detective Paglia have participated in this fundraising event. So far they have both raised over $5,000 for pediatric research.
Donations can still be made via Sgt. Huinker’s online donation page http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/582269/2013
Sgt. Huinker made this event a family event by raising the money with his son John. They do this act of charity to help a 10-year-old girl from Mount Prospect named Haley, who has a brain tumor.
Chief of Police Dean H. Strzelecki says, “These acts of kindness and generosity by our officers in Niles is fully supported and encouraged through our entire department.”
“These Officers and our other staff members who participate in events such as these set a high standard of community service, support and involvement and should be commended for their efforts.”
