Who Will Be On Morton Grove Ballot?

Three have filed so far in library race; two have filed for mayor in the primary; one announced candidate has not filed yet.

Who will you be voting for on the April 9 ballot in Morton Grove?

It depends on which candidates file for candidacy in the filing period, which started Monday and ends Dec. 26.

So far, Barbara Novick, Carlotta Gonzales and David Calimag have filed to run as candidates for the Morton Grove Library Board, according to Marlene Kramaric of the Village of Morton Grove.

Earlier, Dan Staackmann and Dan DiMaria filed to run in the February primary election. The winner of that contest will run on the April 9 ballot.

One announced candidate in the April 9 election, Larry Gomberg, had not filed as of Thursday afternoon, Kramaric said.

Nice to see contested elections. We expect choice at the grocery store and at the car dealer, so why not in something much more important like our elections?

Larry Gomberg has also filed for the mayoral race in Morton Grove as an independent candidate. At least we will have one candidate for that office who is not
an Action Party candidate. With Action Party holding the mayoral and all the trustee positions, it's time to get an independent voice helping to open up the government to the residents.

Interesting that two new groceries are going into Glenview, one just over the border at Waukegan and Golf. Walmart is looking to Northbrook for another site. Someone should tell them that Prairie View is open for occupancy.

You really need to keep these articles up to date. DiMaria defeated Staackman in the Morton Grove mayoral primary weeks ago. So it'll be a DiMaria vs Gomberg choice for mayor in April.
