Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Cook County

Beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday, a winter weather advisory has been issued by The National Weather Service and will be in effect until 9 a.m. Sunday.

 

A winter weather advisory has been issued by The National Weather Service from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday in Cook County.

The advisory calls for a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow as temperatures dip below freezing late Saturday into early Sunday morning

Motorists are urged to use caution. Visibility on the roads will be diminished and conditions are expected to be slippery as ice develops due to dropping temperatures overnight.

The National Weather Service reports up to two inches of snow is expected between midnight and 4 a.m. Sunday.
