“A Look at Zook” has been planned for Sunday, Oct. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the Park Ridge Nonprofit Center, 720 Garden.  The event is one of a series of entertaining and educational programs presented by The Kalo Foundation.

Betty Green, who discovered Roscoe Harold Zook in 1995 when she watched one of his houses being demolished, will present the program, which will include a tour of Zook houses in Park Ridge.  Zook, along with his partner William F. McCaughey, and Alfonso Iannelli also designed the world famous Pickwick Theater, an art deco movie palace.   A donation of $10 per person is requested for the event.

Established in 2006, the Kalo Foundation is dedicated to safeguarding the rich artistic legacy of Park Ridge through education, advocacy, and preservation, as well as cooperatively promoting the cultural heritage of the city in pursuit of community revitalization. The organization recently waged a successful community-wide effort to save Iannelli Studios.  Ownership of the new Iannelli Studios Heritage Center was officially transferred to The Kalo Foundation of Park Ridge on Aug. 31 and restoration is now underway.  For more information about the Kalo Foundation, go to www.kalofoundation.org
