GOT THE DOT?
It could save your life.
The Niles Senior Center is participating in the Yellow Dot program in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The Yellow Dot program is a life-saving traffic safety initiative that provides first responders with your critical information to improve emergency care in the event you are involved in an accident or need other medical attention while in your vehicle. As part of this program, you will receive a circular yellow decal – the “Yellow Dot” – to place on the rear window of your vehicle. This Yellow Dot alerts emergency responders that, in your glove box, you have a yellow file with your pertinent medical and emergency contact information.
Having immediate access to this information allows first responders to make important decisions regarding emergency treatment and to prepare emergency hospital staff for your care as well.
Help assist first responders with the information they need. Become part of the Illinois Yellow Dot Program. The Illinois Yellow Dot Program is a statewide initiative designed to provide vital medical information on vehicle drivers and passengers. Information contained on the medical card assists first responders in the “Golden Hour” immediately following a serious crash. This can mean the difference between life and death.
