Supporters of the Niles New Party crammed Playbook Sportsbar, 6913 N. Milwaukee, Monday night in a show of support for Mayoral Candidate Andrew Przybylo and Trustee Candidates George "Kappy's" Alpogianis, Danette O'Donovan Matyas and John Jekot.
MC Robin Boesen asked each candidate to say a few words at the low key event and each candidate emphasized that it was imperative for all four candidates on the slate to receive their votes. "There is gridlock in Washington D.C. but we don't want gridlock in Niles," said Mayoral Candidate Przybylo. "Please be sure to cast a vote for Przybylo, Alpogianis, O'Donovan Matyas and Jeckot," he said.
Each of the candidates touched on restoring "Niles Pride"and vowed to return Niles to a time when local businesses and residential building were growing, not shrinking.
"We can do this," Alpogianis said, "with your support we will return Niles to the healthy vibrant community it once was."
The Niles New Party will hold another fundraiser Thursday, March 7, at the White Eagle Restaurant and Banquet Hall, 6839 N. Milwaukee, from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. For more information go to nilesnewparty2013@yahoo.com or call 847-647-9796.
