Howl-O-Ween Features Art From Niles West, Grade Schools Wednesday

See a free play at Niles West today, and also a free art show. And get a team together for a charity 5K.



Here's your "Today in Niles and Morton Grove" feature with what's going on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

 

  • Don your creepiest costume and head to the Howl-o-Ween Art Show held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Niles West High School, 5701 W. Oakton, Skokie. This annual Howl-o-Ween is hosted by the Niles West High School Visual Arts Department. This year’s theme is Super Insects, and features artwork from third grade students at Todd Hall and Lincoln Hall, in partnership with Niles West art students. The community is invited to the Niles West Haunted Art Gallery, to view creepy, crawly artwork, and enjoy Halloween-themed refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.
  • A witty musical about four New Yorkers writing a musical, and hoping to realize their theater dreams, will be put on by Niles West High School students working on their own theater dreams.It's called [title of show].  Yes, that's the actual title. Free performance Weds. Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. and then Friday and Saturday evenings, $7-$10. 
  • Looking ahead: Get a 5K team together to help District 219's Dance Marathon help a charity, Child Restoration Outreach Organization. The race takes place on Sunday, November 10 at Harms Woods on the corner of Golf and Harms Road in Morton Grove. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the race kicks off at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 per individual and $15 per runner (team). Register at www.dm219.org
