Experience Living History with Ben Franklin at The Summit of Uptown
With a wink and a smile, Chicago actor R.J. Lindsey, will portray Ben Franklin—Stories of Revolution at The Summit of Uptown, 10 N. Summit (at Touhy) in Park Ridge on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 1:30 p.m.
The vivid living portrait will emerge thanks to meticulous attention to detail and the use of only documented speeches, letters and anecdotes.
Stories include his youth and his inventions such as the lightning rod, stove, bifocal glasses, book grabber, swim fins, first political cartoon. America’s most clever ambassador will also discuss his contributions to the first police force, volunteer fire department, fire insurance company, lending library, hospital, educational academy and the people of the revolution including the cantankerous John Adams, bilious Arthur Lee, the bumbling British, the fascinating French, and the double-dealing Dutch.
