New Park Board Commissioner to be appointed in Morton Grove

The Morton Grove Park District announces the appointment of resident Rusmir Zec to the Board of Commissioners. Mr. Zec will be appointed to the board and officially sworn into office at 6pm on August 15, 2013 at a Board Meeting.

Mr. Zec has previously served on the park board and was interested in being elected to the board again so he ran for the position in 2013. During his previous service to the board, he helped accomplish an intergovernmental agreement with Niles for ice skating services. Mr. Zec was also heavily involved in the process of hiring the district’s new executive director Tracey Anderson and the movement of the new Oriole Pool Project.

Mr. Zec grew up in Morton Grove/Niles area. Rusmir and his wife Krystal have lived in Morton Grove since 2005 and they have 3 young children. He and his family utilize park district facilities often and attend many of our summer special events. Their children are all involved in a variety of park district activities throughout the year. Besides park district programs, Mr. Zec stays very active in the community. He is involved in Nelson School PTO organization and a frequent volunteer at school. He coaches his son’s AYSO team. In his free time, Rusmir is an avid gardener.
