St. John Brebeuf Homily Uses Sports Theme

At Sunday mass on Jan. 12, Father Michael Meany of St. John Brebeuf (SJB), Niles, used a football signed by Chicago Bears Lineman Kyle Long #75 and a Blackhawks jersey (Patrick Kane #88) to illustrate a point in his homily about hard work and personal achievement.

The football will be a door prize during Catholic School’s Week which starts with a school Open House on Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The week’s events include a presentation on Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. by Bears family member Patrick McCaskey on what a Catholic education has meant to his famous family.
