St. John Brebeuf Hosts School Closes for Severe Weather

St. John Brebeuf School in Niles will be closed Monday, Jan. 6 due to the extreme cold weather. Principal Robert Gawlik said that he and Pastor Michael Meany decided over the weekend to close the school so the students could stay safely at home and the teachers could avoid possible hazardous driving conditions.

A decision on whether to open on Tuesday will be made sometime Monday morning. Parents and staff are notified by a phone tree, blast email, posting on the parish website and the outdoor electronic sign shown here.
