TURNING POINT WELCOMES NAMI JULY 1ST AND TAKES FIRST STEP TOWARD INTEGRATED HEALTH CARE CENTER

SKOKIE, IL- Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center welcomes NAMI - Cook County North Suburban (National Alliance on Mental Illness) on July 1st as a tenant in Turning Point's recently expanded headquarters at 8324 Skokie Boulevard.  Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center received a significant grant from a generous source in 2012 which allowed them to purchase the building adjacent to their current space.  NAMI becomes the first agency to join Turning Point Behavioral Health Care Center on a permanent basis.   NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of American’s affected by mental illness. Together with NAMI, Turning Point will provide services not only to individuals with serious mental illness but support and education for the families and loved ones who care for them.

“We are very excited to make our home in Turning Point's new expansion, and support Turning Point's vision for a mental health center, where clients could access a range of services.” said Executive Director of the Cook County North Suburban affiliate of NAMI Nancy Carstedt.  “Our mission of supporting family members of those with serious mental illness complements the services provided by Turning Point.  Being in the same building will not only help us to refer clients to one another, but allows us the opportunity to work together on advocacy in support of services for the mentally ill.”
