Young Blackhawks Fans Visit LifeSource Blood Drive at Westin O'Hare

Morton Grove residents Ashley O’Connor (left), 13, and her sister, Halley O’Connor-Oakes, 1 ½, pose with Tristan LeBourhis, 12, Park Ridge, while waiting for their parents to donate blood at the Chicago Blackhawks Blood Drive and Marrow Registry held last Saturday at the Westin O’Hare.  Their parents were among the nearly 400 LifeSource blood donors who took part in the Chicago Blackhawks Blood Drive and Marrow Registry last Saturday at the Westin O’Hare.  The LifeSource sponsored event—now in its sixth year—included appearances by Blawkhawks players Nick Leddy and Kris Versteeg—as well as Blackhawks mascot Tommy Hawk.  LifeSource collected 343 units of blood, which will save 1,029 lives.  Participants got a chance to meet the players, pose for photos, and entered into a drawing for Blackhawks tickets, autographed memorabilia and a signed player’s jersey.
