All Monsters Will have a Ball at Niles Park District Event

Monsters Ball intended to get the community in the mood for Halloween.

It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween.

That’s the thinking of the Niles Park District as the soon will be bedecked with pumpkins, ghosts and other scary stuff for the annual Monsters Ball.

Registration is available for the event, from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Center, 7877 Milwaukee Ave. The $13 per person fee for Niles residents ($16 for non-residents), covers a pizza dinner, story-telling and dancing. Participants are especially encouraged to dress in costume.

Youngsters will be programming the dance music, which will be served up by a deejay. Outside, a librarian will read themed stories and a craft table will be set up, said Julie Jentel, the park district’s marketing manager.

She wouldn’t let out the details, “it’s a surprise,” she said.
