Arctic Air May Return in January, Meteorologist Says

We may even see the polar vortex again, according to Accuweather.com.


Now that the Chicago area is basking in !2 ℉ weather after the mercury plunged to -16℉ on Monday, we may all feel a little safer and more comfortable.

However, there's no guarantee that extreme cold, and even the polar vortex, the air mass which shifted here temporarily from the Arctic, won't return.

Meteorologist Paul Pastelok of Accuweather.com is saying that after milder weather in the middle part of January, we can expect more Arctic cold, and possibly even a return visit from the polar vortex, at the end of the month. 

Maybe it's time to order another pair of long underwear.
