The last show of the season benefits programs at Niles North and Niles West
Tonight is the last of the summer’s monthly car shows at the parking lot of .

July’s event drew 111 show cars and nearly 500 spectators, and bigger numbers are expected at the Aug. 11 event. The Drag Racing Team’s race car will be among the vehicles. The event also features raffles, an auction of automotive products and an outdoor barbecue.

At 6:30 p.m. guests can watch a 45-minute K-9 Unit demonstration from the Niles Police Department featuring officer Marijo Zawilla and her dog Odin. The pair will show off procedures for obedience, narcotics detection and handler protection.
Co-sponsored by The Morton Grove Economic Development Commission, Monday Night Car Shows and Kappy’s, the free event runs from 6-9 p.m. A portion of the proceeds are donated to the automobile mechanics training programs at Niles North and Niles West.

In case of rain the show will be postponed to Aug. 18.
