Everyone Dies, But Not Everyone Lives

This article is about how to serve the world in a bigger way with our gifts, while creating our ideal life in the process.

Close to my house, there is a small pond.

For the past couple of years, a family of Canadian geese have made it their home. By goose standards, this family is doing what they were meant to do: Mate for life and every spring come back to their home in time to give life to new goslings. These geese are creating their ideal life by ensuring the safety of their babies for the continuation of the species.

Such is not the case for humans. As our brains evolved and moved on from hunting and gathering, humans have discovered the sense of fulfillment that comes along with doing work that we enjoy.  We have the potential to create our ideal life with only one condition:

We do the work we are called to do.

This requires a ginger combination of "making a living" and living out the authenticity from our hearts for the well-being of the whole. As Leo Tolstoy said, “The vocation of every man and woman is to serve people.”

How do you make the choice to serve humanity with your gifts and talents?

Everyone has a unique message, but first one must own, cultivate and manifest it.

It is our responsibility and privilege to discover how we can serve the world and what work gives meaning to our lives. Living without meaning is the biggest punishment humans can suffer.

Without bringing to life the fruits of our soul, we go through life as robotic automatons. Some of us are born to teach, some to sing, some to fly airplanes and some to help others heal.

Our work can heal our past wounds.  My work as a life-reinvention coach is a direct response to the need for a way to piece together the broken parts of my past.  As a result, I have learned ways to confront similar challenges. By honoring who I am through my work, I honor the Giver of my unique gifts and talents.

Every time I shy away from expressing my authentic self, I suffer the potential of not serving the needs of others through what I was called to do.

If you knew that there’s one person who needs to hear your truth, would it be worth the effort of authenticity?

What we become in the process is more important than the goal itself.

Who are you becoming when you go against all odds and conquer the mountain in your path?  Who are you when you let fear stay in the way of manifesting your greatness?  Or, maybe you don’t believe in your Greatness, maybe you don’t believe with all your heart and soul that the world is better because you were born. Because the truth is, only you can do the work you were called to do, only you were given a certain life experience to touch the lives of those who respond to your unique message.

The work we do is a very important part of who we are. It is a direct manifestation of our Greatness.  It is meant to create our ideal life by bringing us personal fulfillment and by helping the world evolve to higher grounds. The world has a better chance of becoming a better place for all of us if we become happy people and rejoice in the work we do.

We are all part of a universal puzzle.

If one piece is missing, the whole suffers.  And then, we “reap what we sow.”  The best fruit we produce is the one that grows out of love, dedication and servitude for humanity. What kind of fruit do we reap when we are doing work that is not fulfilling our heart and soul?

Creating our ideal life calls us to engage all our creativity, optimism and a belief in the higher purpose of the work we were called to do.

  • So, awaken the artist within and allow it to be the creator of your ideal life.
  • Respond to your calling and do the work you were meant to do.
  • Set short-term and long-term goals and take meaningful action every day.

Reginald Blyth said, “If all men [and women] lead mechanical, unpoetical lives, this is the real nihilism, the real undoing of the world.”

Create with your soul, envision with your mind and take sacred action with all your being.

Ambition will transform into passion; desire will transform into love; drive to achieve will become your sacrifice to serve the needs of the world.
