Farmers' Market Wraps Up Season With Upcoming Events

Market recently welcomed State Rep. Biss and U.S. Rep. Schakowsky this past Saturday as the season winds down.

This past Saturday more than 700 people turned out to shop and listen to Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Evanston) and State Rep. Daniel Biss (D-Evanston) talk about the virtues of buying local produce and what a farmers' market brings to communities. Video of their appearances can be seen here along with other footage from this season at the market.

Residents also enjoyed a day of live music performed by Steve Justman as well as crafts at the Morton Grove Historical Museum booth. Among the peaches, corn, eggs, coffee, fresh bread, chocolate covered cookies, crepes and other delicacies were conversations about this summer.

Neighbors told stories of their summer travels as they planned their next bar-b-q, kids worked off some steam in the bouncy house and the grown ups enjoyed a game of bingo outside under the shade of the music tents.
