Technology Fair
Where/When: Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Niles Library.
Why Go: Play with the latest smartphones, iPads, and other devices. Get advice from the "Geek Squad" on which smartphone or other device to choose. Activities for kids, like the Digital Storytelling Mashup and gaming, start at 2 p.m.
Pricing: Free. 


Where/When: Thursday, March 10,  at White Eagle Banquets, Niles.
Why Go: The Taste is a popular annual event featuring samplings of the area’s finest cuisine, silent and live auctions and raffles. All proceeds are contributed to charitable organizations that directly benefit Morton Grove and the surrounding community.
Pricing: Event tickets are $30 pre-event or $40 at the door.


Where/When: Saturday, March 12, 8 p.m. at North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie.
Why Go: The Grammy-nominated gospel singer performs.
Pricing: $50-$60.


Where/When: Thursday, March 10, 7 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Skokie.
Why Go: Calling all women who like to sing. Does your heart race when you hear Lida Rose? Do you hum along to intercom music at the grocery store? Did you ever want to sing in an a cappella chorus? Then the North Shore Harmonizers may be the answer for you. Come try out to be a part of the group.

Where/When: Thursday, March 10, 7:30 p.m. at Prarie Lakes Community Center in Des Plaines.
Why Go: Getting Married? Bring your song in on a tape or CD. Instructors can give you some quick ideas on dances at the end of class.
Pricing: $30.

Why Go: Come hear practical and inspiring ideas for gaining control over your finances, organizing & de-cluttering your home. Plus helpful tips for staging your home to sell.

Where/When: Friday, March 11 at 9 p.m., The Alley Highwood, 210 Green Bay Rd., Highwood.
Why Go: What’s the one thing that can turn any party into an instant hit? Music! Come get instruction dance lessons from Los Perros during salsa night this Friday.

Where/When: Deerfield Public Library, Thursday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m.
Why Go: Pursuing a murderer who has escaped into Indian Territory, U.S. Marshal Rooster J. Cogburn teams up with a bounty-hunting Texas Ranger and Mattie Ross, a cantankerous young lady bent on avenging the murder of her father. Copies of True Grit are on the self-service hold shelves one month prior to discussion.

Where/When: Whole Foods Market in Deerfield, Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: Open to all raw food and health enthusiasts, whether beginning a raw food journey or eager to share their experience. Come learn about health and nutrition at its finest. Share stories, recipes and enjoy spending time with like-minded individuals.
Pricing: Free.


Where/When: Wilmette Historical Museum, Thursday, March 10 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: These works of art featured in the exhibit include, Dick Tracy newspaper cartoons by Chester Gould, a George Lusk mural of early Wilmette, Christian Carsten's imaginative wood-carvings, and Marian Witt's whimsical lithographs. All are invited and light refreshments will be served.
