Park Ridge Civic Orchestra’s Baroque Bash
Where/When: Pickwick Theatre, 5 S. Prospect, Park Ridge, Sunday April 10, 2:30 p.m.
Why Go: Victor Huls, cello, performs as part of the orchestra’s 2010-11 season of classical music symphonic performances.
Pricing: $25; $20 students and seniors, free for children under 18. Tickets may be purchased in advance.

“In The Park With Civic Strings”
Where/When: Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Ave., Chicago, Sunday April 10, 3 p.m.
Why Go: The Chicago Symphony Orchestra--for free! Recommended for families with kids ages 5 and up.
Pricing: Free, must get tickets.

Lunch with Bunny
Where/When: Niles Park District’s Howard Leisure Center banquets, 6676 W. Howard St., Niles. Saturday April 9, 11am to 1:30pm
Why Go: Because the Bunny always has sweets to give away. There will also be a lunch buffet, craft activity and photos with Bunny.
Pricing: $8-$12. Must RSVP.

One Way Street” Concert
Where/When: Emerald Isle Bar and Grill, 6686 N. Northwest Hwy., in Chicago’s Edison Park neighborhood. Saturday April 9, 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Why go: Alternative and classic rock
Pricing: Buy a drink.

Des Plaines Valley Geological Society Jewelry, Gem, Fossil and Lapidary Arts Show
Where/When: Saturday, April 9, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday April 10, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Des Plaines Park District, 2222 W. Birch, Des Plaines.
Why Go: The girls and women can browse jewelry while the guys check out geodes, rock tumbling and fossils.
Pricing: Adults $3, students $1, seniors $2, children under 12 free with adult.


Where/When: Friday, April 8, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at St. Martha Church, 8523 Georgiana Ave., Morton Grove.
Why Go: What more could you want for a Friday night than to watch live wrestling in a church? The Morton Grove Lions Club is hosting a fundraiser for “Strike Out Diabetes” with wrestling veterans! Tickets are available at the door. Call Jim at 847-650-2136 for more information.
Pricing: $15 at the ringside and $10 for general admission


Where/When: Thursday, April 7, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Morton Grove Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St., Morton Grove.
Why Go: It’s a great way to donate and give back to the community. You don’t have to sign up in advance, you can just walk right in. For more information or to schedule an appointment, you can call LifeSource at 847-543-3768. Remember to stay hydrated and bring your ID.

Improv Commandos
Where/When: Saturday, April 9, 2 p.m. at Deerfield Public Library, 920 Waukegan Rd, Deerfield.
Why Go: Share the excitement of a live, unscripted comedy performance created entirely from audience suggestions and featuring improv games similar to those seen on Whose Line is it Anyway? You can even volunteer to join the Improv Commandos onstage!
Pricing: Free

DBR Chamber of Commerce Networkers Breakfast
Where/When: Friday, April 8, 7:30-9:00 a.m. at 3000 Lakeside Dr, Bannockburn (GCG Financial, First Floor Conference Room).

Comedy at the ‘Mette’ with Chad Briggs
When/Where: Saturday, April 9 at 9pm at the Wilmette Theatre 1122 Central Ave.
Wilmette, IL 60091
Why Go: Chad Briggs has previously performed on TBS’ “Just for Laughs” and is a 2009  Impress the Apes award winner. Briggs is sure to crack a few laughs as the April headliner for Wilmette Theatre’s comedy series. Wine and beer will also be sold.
Pricing: Tickets $12, 21+ event


When/Where: Sunday, April 10 at 4:45 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:15 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., at the , 1242 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091
Why Go: The 16-minute film is a light-hearted narrative of boy-meets-girl but can’t quite keep her. The short movie was made by a Wilmette native and will be shown several times Sunday afternoon through evening.

Rivers Casino Job Fair
When/Where: Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Rosemont/ Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road
Why Go: Need a job? Dress for success and head on down to learn about the hundreds of job opportunities (including full benefits) that will soon be available at the new casino opening this summer. Resumes will not be accepted at this time.
Pricing: Free (although there is a small fee for parking).
