Where/When: Northbrook Public Library, Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Michigan jazz pianist and composer, Deborrah Wyndham performs.

‘Sing Out Chicago’
Where/When: North Shore Center for Performing Arts, Sunday, March 13 at 4:30 p.m.
Why Go: The Jewish United Fund hosts the “Sing Out Chicago” event, which features male singing group the “Maccabeats.” 
Pricing: $18 


Where/When: Winnetka Community House, Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m.
Why Go: Big reds and buttery whites that won't break the bank! Come sample vintages from around the world that will be both easy on your palette and more importantly on your pocketbook. Enjoy the savings offered on superb wines by co-sponsoring vendor, the International House of Wine and Cheese. Delicious pairings of savory appetizers will be served. All wines will be available for purchase with case discounts and free delivery.

Where/When: The Book Stall at Chestnut Court, Friday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
Why Go: The author of Winnetka signs Northfield, her new volume in the “Images of America” series, about the history of Northfield and the legendary story behind how the suburb got its name. The Book Stall will be celebrating the coming merger of the Winnetka and Northfield Chambers of Commerce.

Where/When: Wilmette Public Library, Saturday, March 5 at 2 p.m.
Why Go: Wilmette resident Bob Karr, a recognized expert on Frank Lloyd Wright and Japan, will explore Wright's extraordinary relationship with Japan on March 5 in the auditorium. Mr. Karr will present historic photographs and images, as well his own photographs, of the places Wright encountered during his numerous trips to Japan between 1905 and 1922, places that inspired the renowned architect's style. Karr has studied and worked extensively in Japan and served on the board of the Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust.

Where/When: Mitchell Museum of the American Indian
Why Go: Laura McDowell, assistant curator of collections at the Mitchell Museum of the American Indian in Evanston, will lead a tour of the Mitchell's permanent galleries at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 5. The event will survey Native American art forms across North America --  and the forces that have shaped them.
Pricing: $5, $2.50, free for Mitchell Museum members and tribal members
