Halloween Parade and Party
When/Where: Saturday, October 22 at 10:30 a.m. The parade will start at, Lee Street and Ottawa Street, Niles, and go to Odell and Monroe Streets, both in Niles.
Why Go: Celebrate the October holiday by filling the streets in your best Halloween attire. Afterward, little ones can play games in the gym. There will be no shortage of candy.

Why Go: Romance, jealousy, pride, prejudice, love and more romance. The Maine South High School Theatre students will be putting on the Jane Austen classic for their fall play.

Why Go: Bring the family to watch Rio at the Niles Public Library and enjoy a free treat! The movie is rated G and lasts 96 minutes.

When/Where: Friday, October 21 at 6 p.m. at the; 987 Civic Center Dr, Niles.
Why Go: Kids 5 through 12 can come out and enjoy a night of fun at the gym. Kids can swim, do crafts, have snacks and much more.

Boy Scout Spaghetti Dinner
When/Where: Saturday, October 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. John Brebeuf’s Parish Ministry Center (the building with the artsy-modern windows), 8305 N. Harlem Ave., Niles.
Why Go: Spaghetti alla marinara, with salad, garlic bread, dessert and drinks, all served up by earnest young Boy Scouts building their character by chopping garlic and washing very large pasta pots.
Pricing: $7 adults, $6 seniors, $4 for ages 4 to 10 and free for ages under four.
