Why Go: Christian Vande Velde, a professional cyclist and team leader of Garmin-Cervelo, will headline the Cocktails with Christian 2 event at Tin Fish in Tinley Park. Also, John Vande Velde, Olympic cyclist who was appeared in the film “Breaking Away,” will be a part of the fundraiser for the South Chapter of the Chicago Area Mountain Bikers (CAMBr).

Veteran’s Day Event 

When/Where: Friday, November 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Park Ridge Senior Center; 100 S. Western Ave, Park Ridge.

Why Go: The Senior Center will be putting on a special program to honor our veterans. Breakfast will be served.

Pricing: Veterans attend free; $8 for non-veteran attendees.

Veteran’s Day Ceremony

When/Where: Friday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at the; 8970 N. Milwaukee Ave, Niles.

Why Go: Members of the Niles VFW Post #7712 will conduct a ceremony at the Niles Historical Museum in memory of those Niles residents who served our country.

Holiday Craft Fair

Where/When: Sunday Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at , 8305 N. Harlem, Niles.

Why Go: More than 50 crafters will have their handiworks on display, giving you an early holiday selection of their best work. Continental breakfast, as well as lunch, will be served. There'll be a bake sale and raffles, too.

When/Where: Sunday, November 13 at 2 p.m. at the; 6960 W. Oakton St, Niles.

Why Go: Award-winning musician and composer Susan Salidor returns to the Niles Library for a family concert.

National Gaming Day

When/Where: Saturday, November 12 from 1:30 until 4 p.m. at the ; 6960 W. Oakton St, Niles.

Why Go: Play popular games on Playstation 3, Xbox Kinect and Wii systems provided by Best Buy. The will be food and a chance to win raffle prizes!
