How to Pick up the Pieces and Find Inner Peace

This article teaches how to become the archeologist of our own soul, pick up the broken pieces, find inner peace and re-create a whole new life.

Picking up the pieces and creating a whole new life after life had challenged us in some way is something that binds us together to a certain extent.

All human beings experience a multitude of life situations that sometimes leave us broken, fragmented and unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

At times, we want to believe that we are at fault or that maybe if we would have done this one thing differently, we could have avoided the outcome.  Some embrace the idea that they had nothing to do with what happened and tend to look for blame somewhere.  It is my parent’s fault, my sister, my brother, the culture we live in, my upbringing, etc.

For the first forty years of my life, I was one of those people who was looking for blame.

In my own resentment and disappointment regarding my own youth experience, the only solution I found was to blame my parents.

In my bag of tools I found no better coping mechanism than blame. When we suffer mortal wounds of some sort blame, anger and resentment are the only viable alternatives we can come across in the desperation of finding a moment of inner peace.

Yet, I can tell you from my own experience that anger and resentment are not an option.

Our whole being suffers when we experience the low vibration of negative emotions.

Our health, relationship with self and others, our work and the way we show up in the world are a shadow of what our lives could be when we finally discover the value of inner freedom and peace.

Inner peace is priceless!

Nobody can put a price tag on the inner peace we can feel when we finally realize that there is a different way to view life.

Picking up the broken pieces and creating a whole new life is a process that begins with feeling overwhelmed with holding on to the past and a deep desire to make changes that produce lasting results.

Viewing our whole life from a different perspective allows us to surrender, let go and move on with new discovered wisdom, compassion for others and the self and a new desire to make the world a better place.  Those that found freedom from the negative outlook on their past experiences know the meaning of my words.

To those that haven’t found it yet, I want to assure you that there is a way to become free.  Nothing is written in stone, life is a constant flow of events and challenges.  Tomorrow we are a new person with a different canvas in front of us. You are the artist that chooses every day how to paint the reality of your lives.

Some, in their wisdom have come to the awareness that that’s just the way things are, surrender, let go and move on with new acquired wisdom from being involved in a difficult situation. This new acquired wisdom allows them to see an order in universe as well as the silver lining in all events they have encountered.  At the magic moment of self-awareness, they break the spell of being a victim and become creators of their lives in the highest sense of the world.

The key to experience freedom and inner peace is hidden in the perspectives we take on life.

We have the choice of becoming bitter and resentful or take life as an opportunity of discovering who we are and what are we called to do with all life experience and knowledge we acquire. It comes a time in our lives when we are called to be more and to do more.

Old, limiting beliefs about ourselves and the world are no longer serving our new path.

We begin to feel this burning fire at the core of who we are, which is there for a reason.

It is there so we wake up from the veil of superficiality and ignorance and evolve our consciousness to better our own lives and the community we live in.

In reality, everything we’ve been through can be used as an impetus for transformation and beyond. Beyond transformation we find the transcending of all our past wounds and the opportunity to pick up the pieces from the mud of our life, polish them and re-invent the person we are becoming.

The meaning we give to our past creates or present and re-invents our future!

Our past is created of moments of pain and moments when we felt in our true power. If I take a look at my own life line, I can see the defining moments in my life when I experienced the dark night of my soul at one extreme and the most exhilarating experience of my life at the other. I know when I was in situations when I felt weak and I couldn’t defend myself and in the same token I remember the exact time when I was in my power and I spoke up against injustice at the early age of 15. Within myself I found both ends of the spectrum.

Please, take a look at your life line and find that moment in your life when you felt most vulnerable and then look at the other end of your life line when you felt in your most power. In retrospect, what meaning can you give to these two defining moments in life? Do you see how they have shaped you and how your life took different turns because of them? Can you find the positive in the negative situations you’ve been through? The answer might not come right away, but if you commit yourself to the task of discovering what you are supposed to learn from your past and how to use it to heal the present and reinvent the future, I can assure you it will come in due time. Plant the seed of wanting to break free from the negative outlook in life and when you are ready to transform, the caterpillar will become the beautiful butterfly that you are.

You will leave the cocoon and be free because the meaning you give to your past grants you free passage to inner peace.  It’s that simple!

In retrospect, I have discovered that my heart is capable of much forgiveness and love in spite of what life set on my plate. My empowering moment taught me that I have a passion for justice. By looking for the silver lining in all life situations I am better able to know who I am and what I’m made of. In the process, I have learned to appreciate all aspects of myself and use it all as an impetus for transformation and transcendence of the physical realm to evolve spiritually.

I invite you to take a moment before you finish reading these words and look for the silver lining in your past life events. What can you learn about yourself in the process? What aspect of yourself you were not aware of emerges from under the pile called life? Who are you becoming when you make the conscious choice of living with freedom and inner peace? What positive meaning you can give to your past in the light of where you find yourself now and what you want your life to be in the future?

Become the archeologist of your own soul, dig deep at the core of who you are and find that golden threat that binds your life together.

The meaning you give to your life sets you free and gives you the extraordinary life you are meant to live!
