Local Students' Recipe to be Featured in National Cookbook

Skokie's Lincoln Junior High School noodle dish is a palate pleaser

A recipe submitted by Lincoln Junior High School students recently won a spot in the U.S. Department of Argriculture’s “Recipes for Healthy Kids” cookbook, the Morton Grove Champion reported.

The dish, called Oodles of Noodles, was one of 340 recipes entered in the contest and placed in the top 30. It contains whole wheat pasta, Swiss chard, garlic, basil and olive oil, as well as other ingredients.

In order to enter the contest the students had to write about the importance of healthy eating. Former and current students from Lincoln Junior High School participated.
