Moms Talk: While Casey Anthony May Be Extreme, Are There Varying Degrees of Neglectful Parents?

While Anthony's lack of concern for her missing daughter is causing outrage around the nation, have you ever known other parents who slack off a little in watching their kids?

Many Americans reacted in horror to the case of Casey Anthony, who was accused of killing her two-year-old daughter Caylee, and who was alleged to have waited a month, while going out partying, to report her baby missing. Anthony was found not guilty on the murder charge. 

Many parents would agree Anthony was a nightmare mother, who shrugged off the parental duty to protect children with a cavalier attitude that bordered on obscenity. 

But--and this is an uncomfortable subject--are there other parents who leave babies or young children home alone, or with less-than-responsible people, so that they can go out partying, drinking, dancing, shopping or even working?

And do some parents just let their children wander the home, yard or block, figuring "oh, they'll be OK"?

Given that a sexual predator with attempted child abduction this week for trying to lure a 12-year-old boy into his car in Elmwood Park,  and an 8-year-old Brooklyn, New York boy was murdered recently by a predator, what do you think about the whole issue of child neglect?
