Niles Business Owner And Family Killed On India Trip

Subway owner Iqbal Habib, his wife and 6-year-old and 10-year-old were killed in a traffic accident on a visit to their homeland.

Employees of a Subway in Niles were grieving Tuesday after the shop's owner, Iqbal Habib, and his wife and their two children were killed in a car crash on a trip to India, the parents' native country, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Iqbal, 45, and his wife Zeenat Habib, 39, of Naperville, had taken their children, 6-year old Ashaz and 10-year-old Fareeza, on a trip to sightsee and meet relatives in India, according to Huffington Post, when their driver lost control of the car they were riding in, in the Kirawali area, and it crashed.

While the Tribune did not identify which Habib owned, it did quote manager Nabeel Siddiqui, and Patch.com business listings indicate Siddiqui is manager at the Village Crossing Shopping Center location at 5685 W. Touhy, Niles.
