Niles Seeking Participants for Citizen's Police Academy

Registrations are now being taken to enroll in the academy that starts September 6, which gives residents an in-depth look at law enforcement.

 

Are you interested in getting a bird's eye view of what it takes to work in law enforcement? If so, enrollment has begun for the Citizen's Police Academy offered by the Niles Police Department.

The academy, which begins September 6, will meet once weekly for 11 weeks, and provide education and information about issues affecting Niles police.

The curriculum includes information about crime prevention, community policing, gang awareness, evidence collection and even a police ride-a-long, among many other topics.

There is no cost to participate in the Citizen's Police Academy, but participants must be at least 21 years of age, and either live, work or own a business within Niles city limits.
