Pet of the Week: Jerry

Each week, we spotlight an exceptional pet available for adoption from a local rescue. Jerry is great with kids.

This week, we are featuring Jerry!  Jerry was found on the streets of Skokie a couple of months ago.  With the help of Chicago Canine Rescue (yes, they do help out the occassional cat), Tree House Humane Society, and Morton Grove Animal Hospital, he is now safe, vaccinated, viral tested, neutered, microchipped, and ready to find a comfy home of his own.

Initially, it was hoped that Jerry could live out his life as one of the well-loved house cats at Morton Grove Animal Hospital.  However, he has made it clear that he would prefer to be the only cat.  Since he would be around a lot of other cats at MGAH, it has been decided to find him a home where he can be king of his castle.

Jerry so far seems accepting of dogs.  The great thing about him, though, is his love of children.  His tolerance for being carried and petted and walked is beyond amazing!  He never has his claws out or bites, and he never gets over stimulated or reactive.  When he has had enough, he simply jumps back into his cage.
